Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Officers say they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then located many other smeared vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; officials are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the residents for tips.
A high-ranking political figure said the vandalism rendered him stunned and needed to be addressed rapidly.
"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
