American Forces Struck a 'Major Plant' in the Venezuelan nation, President Trump Claimed Lacking Providing Details.

Ex-President Trump has asserted that US military assets struck a "major installation" in the South American country in recent days. However, the former president offered no details on the exact purpose or site of the strike, and there has been no additional clarification from his administration.

Unspecific Remarks Made In a Radio Show

"US forces just eliminated – I don't know if you read – they have a major complex, where the vessels come from. Recently, we destroyed it. So we hit them very hard," Trump allegedly told Republican donor and businessman John Catsimatidis in a recent interview.

Possible Significance of a Verified Attack

Should a US strike were to be verified, it would represent the first ground target hit since the Pentagon began a expansion of American strike forces in the Caribbean region to disrupt narco-trafficking operations that the Trump administration claims operate under the direction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

This original mission of the military buildup has since morphed into a quarantine aimed at hindering the country's oil exports.

Social Media Footage and Administration Statements

Trump has for some time warned that US forces are poised to escalate the operations by attacking objectives within Venezuela, a move that would theoretically require legislative approval.

Online video shared online on 24 December appeared to show an blast reportedly from an industrial zone in a Venezuelan state. Yet, the footage or the site in question has not been confirmed by third parties.

An official from Trump's team reportedly informed a media outlet that the president was describing a narco-trafficking site in his remarks.

Response and Current Military Posture

The Caracas administration has not commented on the incident the former president referenced. Additionally, there have been no corroborating news from within the country about it.

The deployment of US military in the area – a stance certain officials have called a maritime "quarantine" – marks the largest naval operation of his time in office.

Sources have refrained from describing the operation as a blockade, but have confirmed that approximately 15,000 service members are deployed across the Caribbean and the Gulf, including a carrier strike group, F-35 aircraft, and law enforcement vessels to enforce current economic sanctions.
